Five youth soccer teams from Clark County won state championships over the weekend in Tukwila.
The Washington Youth Soccer Recreational Cup semifinals and finals were held at the Starfire Sports Complex.
Boys teams winning titles were Vancouver West Toulca (under 13 age group), Camas-Washougal Eagles (under 14) and the Vancouver United Victory (under 17). Girls championship teams were the Salmon Creek Flower Power (under 11) and the Vancouver United Cougars (under 19).
In the girls under-11 tournament, Salmon Creek Flower Power won a penalty-kick tiebreaker in the final after playing the Silver Lake Cyclones to a 1-1 draw. In the semifinals, Flower Power beat the University Place Blue Angels in the semifinal match by a 1-0 score.
In the girls under-19 division, the Vancouver United Cougars defeated a team from the Fife area 2-1 in the championship match. The Cougars reached the final by winning a 7-6 penalty-kick tiebreaker over a Kirkland team after a scoreless draw in the semifinals.
In the boys under-13 division, Vancouver West Toluca beat the Northshore YSA Cobras from Woodinville 8-1 in the finals after a 2-0 win over the Silver Lake Bombers in the semifinals.
In the boys under-14 division, the Camas-Washougal Eagles beat the Snoqualmie Valley Pumas 3-2 in the finals after a 7-1 win over the Shelton Warriors in the semifinals.
In the boys under-17 division, the Vancouver United Victory posted a pair of 5-0 wins. In the semifinals the Victory defeated Sno-King United. In the finals they beat Silver Lake.

The Recreational Cup is the state tournament limited to teams that are not formed by tryouts or recruiting. Teams in this tournament have limited practices and cannot have paid coaches.
Covington MS wrestlers win district title
Seven wrestlers from Covington Middle School won championships to lead the Colts to the team title during the Greater St. Helens League Middle School Wrestling Tournament.
The tournament was held Friday and Saturday at Union High School and involved middle schools in the Evergreen and Camas school districts.
Covington scored 415 team points to outdistance runner-up Skyridge, which scored 356.5 points. Winning titles for the Colts were: Israel Gonzalez (70 pounds), Kevin Nguyen (75), Elijah Volk (95), Daxten Monahan (112), Alex Newberry (118), Jorge Rubio (165) and Tumua Sosene (heavyweight-2).
Skyridge champions were: Dante Humble (90 pounds), Grant Bane (106), Tyler Shea (124), Randy Yaacoub (136) and Colby Stoller (175).
Liberty champions were: Porter Craig (80 pounds) and Gideon Malychewski (130).
Shahala champions were: Vinh Luong (100 pounds) and Kyle Brosius (155).
Other individual champions were Noah Messman of Wy’East (85 pounds), Calvin Buck of Frontier (145), Victor Naumov of Pacific (195) and Rocky Mataia of Cascade (heavyweight).

Grimshaw fastest at Lincoln School Run
Mike Grimshaw of Vancouver won the Clark County Running Club’s 4.4-mile Lincoln School Run on Saturday. The 50-year-old finished in 28 minutes and 15 seconds, more than two minutes in front of the second-place finisher.
Kaitlyn McKinney, 18, of Vancouver was the first female to finish. She was sixth overall was 34:11.
The Clark County Running Club will hold a run around Pacific Park from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Participants can run for up to 45 minutes and complete as many 1.4-mile laps as they wish.
Pacific Park is at 1515 N.E. 164th Ave.
