Kinai Kiyokawa scored 16 points and Kedrick Johnson added 13 as Hockinson opened league play with an overtime loss in Longview.
Despite the loss, Hockinson coach Manny Melo saw many positives in the game.
“We had great intensity throughout the game on both sides of the ball,” Melo said. “Defensively it would our best game of the year hands down.”
Hockinson (2-3, 0-1) led 39-31 after three quarters. R.A. Long (2-1, 1-0) had a shot to win at the end of regulation, but misfired from 3-point range.
R.A. Long then outscored Hockinson 10-4 in overtime. Marcus Maryott scored 21 points and Coby Rothwell added 17 for the Lumberjacks.
