People in Business

C-Tran has announced the hiring of Christine Selk as communication and public affairs manager/public information officer. Selk comes to the agency from WSP Parsons Brinkerhoff, a global consulting firm where she handled business development. She was also an editor at The Oregonian for 14 years.

Casey Sanders, family law and divorce attorney, has joined the Vancouver office of McKinley Irvin. Sanders is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law.

Vancouver accounting firm Brewer Caley CPAs has added James Norbeck and Megan Hays to its staff. Norbeck is an A+ Certified IT consultant and IRS enrolled agent. As a senior accountant at Brewer Caley, he will be responsible for reviewing tax returns and planning, management consulting, and financial statement preparation. Hays is a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and will be responsible for tax return preparation, tax planning and bookkeeping services.

The Southwest Washington workforce Development Council has hired two new employees for its youth program:

Andrew Westlund, as youth initiatives manager, will be responsible for overseeing youth-related strategies and contracts surrounding youth training and employment.

Justin McDaniels will fill a new position, regional work-based learning coordinator. He will collaborate with school districts and community partners to connect students to internships, mentoring and job shadow experiences.

SCORE has expanded its services to both Cowlitz County and Gorge communities. Those seeking mentoring and advice on starting a small business may schedule appointments for their preferred location through an online calendar platform found at www.score.org by selecting the Vancouver chapter. Skamania County appointments will be held at the Chamber of Commerce office, 167 N.W. Second Ave., and Cowlitz County appointments at the MERK Building, 1339 Commerce Ave., Longview.
