One lane of northbound Interstate 5 near Woodland will remain closed “indefinitely,” the Washington State Department of Transportation said Saturday.
“By keeping a single lane closed, traffic will continue to move safely while we develop our next steps for stabilizing the hillside,” WSDOT Southwest Regional Administrator Kris Strickler said in a press release. “We appreciate the hard work of the crews clearing the debris from the slide and appreciate the patience from the traveling public.”
All lanes were closed near after a mudslide Wednesday, sending traffic into a tumult. The highway didn’t reopen until Thursday evening.
Access from Dike Access Road to northbound I-5 also remains closed.
