Boys basketball: Ridgefield 63 vs. Fort Vancouver 60

Louden Wardius scored 26 points as Ridgefield held on for a nonleague win at home.

The Spudders led 43-33 after three quarters. But Fort Vancouver scored 27 points in the fourth quarter and pulled within two points in the final minute.

Though Ridgefield made just 14 of 34 free throws, coach Nick Veys praised team’s rebounding and defense. He singled out effort of Spencer Anderson and Auston DeHaan.

Travis Gottsch and DeHaan each scored 13 points for Ridgefield, which has won three straight after a season-opening loss.

Ronald Owens scored 20 points and James Husband added 15 for Fort Vancouver (2-4).
