Vancouver — The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra has won a grant of $25,000 from the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The grant will help with general operating expenses and with the orchestra’s educational outreach program at local schools.
“Every day, we continue to spread the word about the quality of our performances and try to impact the lives of people in Southwest Washington,” VSO board chairman David Smith said. “A big part of our mission has been educating students to the beauty and importance of music our lives.”
The grant came from the Waldon M. Groves Fund, a charitable fund at the Community Foundation, which works with nearly 300 distinct and individually managed funds. Learn more at www.cfsww.org.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is now in its 37th year, and its 25th under the baton of Maestro Salvador Brotons. For more information about VSO, visit vancouversymphony.org.
