The week’s stormy weather knocked down trees and caused landslides around the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, damaging and closing several roads.

The Forest Service said the closed roads are:

  • Forest Road 25, between Forest Road 93 and 6 miles north of Forest Road 99
  • Forest Road 99 is inaccessible from Forest Road 25
  • Forest Road 23 between milepost 12 and Forest Road 8810
  • Forest Road 54, 7miles east of Amboy

The Forest Service said agency staff are continuing to gather new information and evaluating the conditions of other roads. Information on road access throughout the forest will be updated on the forest’s website, www.fs.usda.gov/main/giffordpinchot.

Forest visitors can also call ranger district offices in Randle at 360-497-1100, Trout Lake at 509-395-3400 and Amboy at 360-449-7800 for local information.
