Firefighters needed to extract a driver pinned in a vehicle that overturned and hit a tree near Battle Ground Lake on Thursday morning.

Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Muller said a driver traveling west on Northeast 259th Street lost control and went off the right side of the road around 11:30 p.m., near Northeast 190th Avenue.

Muller said the driver’s Toyota Yaris flipped and struck a tree and phone utility box.

The driver, Austin Luisi, 17, of Vancouver, was unhurt, Muller said, but taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center as a precaution. The hospital said Thursday evening he had been discharged.

Clark County Fire District 3 Battalion Chief Jeff Stewart said firefighters needed to use hydraulic tools to extract Luisi, who was stuck inside the car.

Muller said no citations were issued.
