Clark County — The Parks Foundation of Clark County received a $10,000 grant from the Waldon M. Groves Fund for its Teen Late Night Program, in which community centers stay open from 6 to 11 p.m. Fridays during the school year. The Waldon M. Groves Fund is a charitable fund at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The community centers have games rooms, gyms and a staff on hand. The program “promotes healthy development for teens, and provides access to an environment designed to develop positive social skills and social competence, foster moral development, and enhance self-esteem — all of which help reduce risk-taking behavior and improve academic success and healthy interpersonal relationships,” according to a release from the foundation.
