There will be no electric rate increases next year after the Clark Public Utilities commission approved its 2016 budget Tuesday morning.

Though the Bonneville Power Administration — which provides 60 percent of the utility’s power — raised its own rates by 4.8 percent this fall, Clark Public Utilities was able to absorb the increase.

The utility’s electric and generating budget for next year is $368.2 million, about $100,000 higher than the 2015 budget. The water system budget will fall to $15.7 million from $16.5 million in 2015.
