Edgewood Park — Students at the Northwest Culinary Institute prepared and delivered 100 Thanksgiving meals to Share on Nov. 24 to help feed the homeless community. The students cooked 100 servings of turkey, cornbread stuffing, gravy, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, rolls and cookies.

“Anytime we can put the students in a real world cooking situation, we will,” said Jared Basset, culinary instructor, in a release from the school. “Whether it’s a VIP luncheon, a catered event, or something like helping the community, there are a lot of things that can be learned. Throughout the entire process from planning to packaging, the students were especially engaged and motivated. It was great to see how eager they were to help.”
