The Centralia College women’s basketball used just six players and solid defense to hand Clark its second loss of the season, 85-67 at Centralia on Saturday afternoon.

Clark (4-2) got within three points in the second half, but Centralia was able to get the lead back up to 11 points and cruise from there.

“We didn’t defend like we are capable of,” Clark coach Al Aldridge said, also noting his team had 25 turnovers.

“I have to credit Centralia with their defensive effort,” he said. “They took us out of what we wanted to do.”

Clark had five players in double figures, led by Breann Nueku’s 15 points and four assists. Bryn Tennyson and Shantel Aleki each scored 11 points, and Kendyl Cone and Molly Franklin had 10 points each.

Hockinson grad Sydnie Cole-Vogler scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for Centralia.
