OLYMPIA — The state Fish and Wildlife Commission has approved purchase of 235 acres on the north side of Merrill Lake and along the upper Kalama River.
Julie Sandberg, real estate services section manager for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, said the agency has $1.45 million from a state grant for the purchase. The land is owned by Merrill Lake Properties LLC.
The Merrill Lake portion of the purchase is at the north end of the lake.
