Sunday wasn’t as blustery as Saturday in the Vancouver area, but it brought about the same amount of rain.

The National Weather Service reported that 0.27 of an inch of rain fell Sunday at Pearson Field as of about 9 p.m. On Saturday, the same amount had fallen at Pearson — the most since 0.36 of an inch of rain fell there on May 11.

On Sunday, most of the precipitation at Pearson — 0.24 inch of rain — fell before 5 a.m., according to the weather service.

The foothills in eastern parts of Clark County saw the most rain over the weekend, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Colby Neuman. Larch Mountain recorded nearly 2 inches of rain for Saturday and Sunday combined, he said.

Between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday, unofficial rain gauges tracked by the weather service recorded 0.55 of an inch of rain in Battle Ground, 0.76 of an inch in Hazel Dell, 0.39 of an inch in Ridgefield and 0.72 of an inch in east Vancouver.

In some spots Sunday, drivers faced standing water on roadways. Standing water was reported on southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Milepost 3 and on northbound lanes of I-5 near Milepost 6, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Forecasters predicted that today will be mostly dry, with the possibility of rain returning Tuesday afternoon or evening.
