There will be many characters running around Esther Short Park next weekend as the Kumoricon Anime Convention returns to Vancouver. More than 6,000 fans of anime, comic and Japanese culture will gather Sept. 4-7 at the Hilton Vancouver and Red Lion Hotel at the Quay. Guests include musician Kieran Strange, Portland band The Slants, and voice actors Patrick Seitz, David Vincent, Erica Mendez and Christine Marie Cabanos.
