A Camas police patrol car was involved in a crash Tuesday night. No one was injured.

Officer Ward Kruse was driving a Camas Police Department patrol vehicle, a 2015 Ford Explorer, south on Washougal River Road at about 9:45 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol.

The emergency lights on the car were activated as he approached E Street, but the officer failed to make sure the intersection was clear, state troopers wrote in a press memo.

Adam Anderson, 32, of Washougal was driving a 1991 Jeep Cherokee west on E Street toward Washougal River Road and crashed into the officer’s vehicle, state patrol reported.

Kruse had another police officer in the vehicle with him, Camas police Officer Debrah Riedl said.

No one was cited during the incident, according to state patrol.

Kruse remains on duty, Riedl said, and the agency is waiting for the outcome of the state patrol’s investigation.
