Clark County Connect’s annual Day of Service that sends volunteers to projects around the county is set for Saturday, Sept. 12.
The majority of the projects involve beautifying public spaces and schools. There are 23 volunteer opportunities available for online sign-up, which include restoring Camp Hope near Lewisville Park, removing scotch broom plants from the Camas Lily Fields, extending the Vancouver Lake Trail and sorting clothing donations for Northwest Children’s Outreach. Most of the projects have open volunteer slots.
The event kicks off 8 a.m. at the Share Fromhold Center, 2306 N.E. Andresen Road, where there will be goodies for volunteers, who are asked to bring nonperishable foods.
Clark County Connects aims to have 2,000 people volunteer. Last year, there were 1,500 volunteers spread out over more than 30 projects.
