Jacob Boucher received a bachelor of arts degree this month, graduating magna cum laude, and was named outstanding graduate of communication studies. His academic research focused on comic book studies, and the ways in which race, gender and sexuality figure into the contemporary comic book industry. He worked with a Western alum to build a website, homerica.house, featuring American companies that make building materials, home furnishings, furniture and appliances. Boucher is a graduate of Battle Ground High School, and the son of Karen and Daniel Boucher.
Hannah Ricker graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in June and was named outstanding graduate of the department of finance and marketing. At Western, she served as a campus tour guide, and for part of her senior year, she studied in Spain on a scholarship. After graduation, she aspired to work at an advertising agency in the field of digital marketing, particularly in the areas of search engine optimization and interactive strategy. She is the daughter of Rosemarie and Alan Ricker, and a graduate of Skyview High School.
