Vancouver — Fortune Magazine has ranked Nautilus, the Vancouver-based manufacturer of fitness machines, No. 23 on its 100 Fastest Growing Companies list.

Companies that make the annual list, in its 19th year, are those “with the most stellar three-year profit, revenue and stock growth,” according to Fortune.

In its profile of Nautilus, the magazine said: “This maker of gym equipment has been toning itself back into shape — but (like most of us) hasn’t reattained the muscly peak of its younger days.”

Nautilus was founded in 1986. As of Aug. 1, the company employed 353 people globally. Of those, 287 work in Vancouver and 22 work in Portland. The other 44 employees work in Canada, China, France and The Netherlands.

The company’s stock, which trades as NLS on the New York Stock Exchange, closed down 75 cents Wednesday, at $16.76 per share. Nautilus’ shares have traded between $10.72 and $22.95 in the past 52 weeks.
