Ski area to host uphill run on Saturday

Registration is open for Mount Hood Meadows’ second annual Uphill Challenge on Saturday.

Runners will test themselves on a 1.2-mile course starting at the main parking lot and ending at the top of Stadium chairlift, a 621-foot elevation gain.

Advance registration is $20 for runners age 20 and older and $10 for runners age 19 and younger. Day-of-race registration is $5 more.

To register in advance, go online to skihood.com/uphillchallenge.

The male and female winners each will earn a $120 cash prize. Registration and bib pick up open at 8 a.m. with the race at 10 a.m.

Course records will be kept for each age category in five-year increments starting at age 4.
