A Woodland Chamber of Commerce luncheon next week will focus on regional and statewide transportation issues. The featured guest is state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas.
The luncheon, which is open to the public, begins at noon Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Oak Tree Restaurant, 1020 Atlantic Ave., in Woodland.
Pike will present ideas to relieve congestion and improve freight mobility on the Interstate 5 corridor, particularly over the Washington-Oregon border, according to her office.
Pike opposed the Columbia River Crossing, the now-defunct I-5 Bridge replacement plan that folded last year without enough political support. She supported a $100,000 allocation in this year’s transportation budget for a bistate work group, but the funding was not included in the final budget passed by the Legislature.
