Woodland — Woodland Public Schools has spent the summer upgrading security measures at its schools.
Once the school day begins, all district buildings will have locked exterior doors, with the only unlocked door leading to each building’s main office. The one exception is Yale Elementary School in Ariel, which has a doorbell.
“By requiring all visitors and late students to enter through the main office, we ensure school personnel know exactly who is on campus at all times,” said Michael Green, superintendent of Woodland Public Schools, in a release from the district.
At Woodland Primary School, the main entrance will be moved to the main hallway. New entrances also will be added at Woodland Middle School and the district office.
All safety projects are scheduled to for completion prior to the start of the school year.
