Clark County — Three Clark County residents recently were accepted into the Teach for America program, a national nonprofit group that expands educational opportunities for students in low-income communities.

The three selected are Kelsey Henderson, a graduate of Evergreen High School and Gonzaga University in Spokane; Kristen Berry of Columbia River High School and Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn., and Jessica Thompson, who graduated Camas High School and the University of New Mexico.

Teach for America members commit to teach in high-need urban or rural public schools and become lifelong advocates for education equity.
