Schools welcome kids back for another year

Battle Ground — Battle Ground school offices reopened this week in preparation for the first day of school on Sept. 2. School supply lists for primary and middle schools also are available online at www.battlegroundps.org/parents-and-students/schoolsupplylist.

School offices are open from 8 a.m. to noon through Thursday this week. School offices will be open full days Monday through Thursday, Aug. 17 through 20. Regular office hours start Aug. 24. Find office hours at www.battlegroundps.org/home/hours.

• Battle Ground High School: Freshman orientation, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 1.

• CAM Academy: Ice cream social, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sept. 2.

• Captain Strong Primary: Ice cream social, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27.

• Chief Umtuch Middle School: Back-to-school night for fifth-grade and new students, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1; Curriculum night for sixth to eighth grades, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 8.

• Daybreak campus: Back-to-school night, 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27.

• Glenwood Heights Primary: Back-to-school night, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26.

• Laurin Middle School: Fifth-grade welcome back, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26; curriculum night, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17.

• Maple Grove School: Back-to-school night, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27.
