Clark County — YWCA Clark County looks to expand the number of volunteers in its sexual assault program. Training for new volunteers, who support survivors of abuse, neglect and oppression, begins Sept. 3.
“Our volunteers are the heart of the sexual assault program. Whether in a hospital or court setting, they support survivors of sexual assault with compassion and empathy,” said program specialist Kai Hill. “Their presence and ability to listen to and support survivors in the healing process is our purpose statement in action, ‘reducing the trauma for sexual assault survivors and their families.’ “
Opportunities include advocating for survivors, representing them in the court system and supporting the safety and healing of families experiencing domestic violence.
