Washougal — While it’s still summer, there’s plenty going on at Hathaway Elementary School.
On July 27, representatives from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry were at the school for a program, bringing along interactive displays that allowed for some fun exploration of anatomy and physics. Students got to look at insects encased in plastic, and put together toy insects.
The final summer program at the school is Aug. 11, when Oregon Children’s Theatre will present the Amazing Food Detective’s newest caper that highlights how healthy choices contribute to total health.
The school’s free breakfast and lunch programs are also offered through the Federal Summer Food Program for all community children ages 1-18 years, and is served in the cafeteria. Breakfast runs Monday-Thursday from 8:10 to 8:40 a.m. and lunch is served from noon to 1 p.m.
