Homicide in Battle Ground results in arrest

Incident occurred late Saturday night, man arrested on suspicion of murder

Battle Ground police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after someone was killed late Saturday.

At about 11:50 p.m., police were dispatched to a reported assault near Southeast Grace Avenue and Second Street. Police arrested Stephen M. Reichow, 33, on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to a city of Battle Ground news release.

Officials responding to the call found the victim near the Battle Ground Paint and Supply Store, and the victim reportedly suffered head wounds that were caused by a blunt object, according to emergency radio traffic.

Reichow was booked into the Clark County Jail, according to the news release. Voter records list him as a Vancouver resident.

The city of Battle Ground released no information about the victim of the alleged murder or how the person died.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 360-342-5242.

Reichow is expected to make a first appearance in Clark County Superior Court on Monday morning.
