Clark County music enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to this summer.

Whether you’re into country, rock, soul, jazz, classical or oldies, it seems there’s a little something for everyone in the vast array of concert lineups heading to Vancouver, Camas, Ridgefield and other areas in the county this season.

And if you’re looking for something different, there are several new acts coming to the city of Vancouver’s popular “Riverview Six to Sunset Concert Series” and “Destination Downtown Noon Concert Series” at Esther Short Park, said Stacy Donovan, who manages the events for the city.

“We feel like we’ve got a really good, exciting lineup this year,” Donovan said. “We’re thrilled we can continue these free family events in the park.”

New to the evening concert lineup is Cloverdayle, a country act out of Nashville, she said.

“It’s a husband-and-wife duo, and they’re becoming a very popular band nationally,” Donovan said. “We also have Soul Vaccination, which we expect to draw a huge crowd. They’re sort of blues, Stevie Wonder, funk, soul music, and they’re pretty popular in the metro area right now.”

Destination Downtown has added some features to the noon concert series as well, including a push to get people to use environmentally friendly modes of transportation, Donovan said.

“They’re encouraging people to walk, bike or take the bus,” she said. “And people who do that will be entered to win prizes from local businesses. They also plan to have some bike rides and other events after the concerts.”

One of the new acts at the noon series is Diana Chittester, who has a folksy, Simon & Garfunkel-type sound, Donovan said.

“She’s a solo artist, guitar player,” Donovan said. “She’s just amazing and great with the audience.”

The Clark County Fair is also switching things up, launching its first ever tribute band day on Aug. 11.

“I think we’ve got a great lineup,” said John Morrison, the fair manager. “We always try to attract more folks, but Tuesdays had been a little slow for us — so we decided to try adding Tribute Tuesday this year.”

The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Fair Grandstands and will include British Export (a Beatles tribute), Ramble On (a Led Zeppelin tribute) and Stone in Love (a Journey tribute), Morrison said.

“We also have Kansas on our opening day, which is a great addition to our lineup,” Morrison said.

Other performers include John Kay and Steppenwolf, Montgomery Gentry and the Guess Who.

“We do a lot of oldies and country,” Morrison said. “We try to get a good mix every year. I think this one plays across the ages and variety of backgrounds very well.”

And if you’re looking for some bigger name performers, several groups are heading for Amphitheater Northwest, including Van Halen, Aerosmith, Fall Out Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Rock, Tim McGraw and Def Leppard.
