Construction to shift alignment on I-205

Ongoing construction work on Interstate 205 will shift the alignment of the southbound side of the freeway starting this weekend, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The shift will realign southbound traffic approaching Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver. The change, expected to last about a year, will allow crews to move the work zone to the right shoulder of southbound I-205 between Northeast Burton Road and Mill Plain.

The change will cause intermittent double-lane closures on southbound I-205 between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The work is part of a larger project to build a new interchange at Northeast 18th Street and I-205. The interchange is expected to be complete next year.
