A Yacolt woman was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries after a crash early this morning north of Moulton Falls Park.

A Volvo V70XC was traveling south on Railroad Avenue just before 7 a.m. when the vehicle crashed near a bend in the road south of Yacolt, North Country EMS Chief Ben Peeler said.

Firefighters performed a heavy extrication, tearing the top of the vehicle off to reach the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, Peeler said.

Paramedics took the woman to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening, Peeler said.

The woman is 29-year-old Cheyla A. Frisk, Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Fred Neiman said. Her condition was not available Friday evening.

Excessive speed appears to be the primary factor in the crash, though deputies continue to investigate, Neiman said.
