Week 4 spring athlete of the week: Sydnie Cole-Vogler, Hockinson softball

Sydnie Cole-Vogler of Hockinson softball was voted The Columbian’s high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 18.

Cole-Vogler collected 44 percent of the 1,093 votes cast by fans to beat out Kody Ulrich of Mountain View soccer, who had 21 percent.

Cole-Vogler, a senior, went 5 for 8 with a double, triple, 3 runs and 4 RBI in two wins for the Hawks.

The other nominees were Bailey King of Union boys track and field, Sammi Hampton of Skyview tennis and Jordan Davis of Camas girls track and field.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
