Sarah J. Anderson Elementary in Vancouver Public Schools has received Washington’s Innovative Schools Designation. It is the only school in the state to receive the designation this year.
Selection is based on creativity and experimentation; best practices and research; increase in student achievement and/or closing achievement gaps; collaborating with parents and the community; and high staff morale and engagement.
Washington’s Innovative Schools program began in 2011. The addition of Sarah J. Anderson brings the total number of designated Innovative Schools in Washington to 27. Vancouver School of Arts and Academics is the only other Clark County school that has received the designation.
