First-graders become insect experts

Washougal — Marvina Bugajski’s Gause Elementary School first-grade class was overrun with insects on April 15. After learning about bugs earlier in the year, the class hosted an Insect Showcase to present visual projects about various insects. A parent brought in insects, both alive and dead, for the students to observe, as well as videos and books about bugs. Some insects included in the students’ presentations were ants, grasshoppers and dragonflies.
