Ridgefield — The Cathlapotle Plankhouse at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge opened its 10th season with a family-friendly event on April 12, where guests could learn about traditional springtime foods of Chinookan Peoples of the Lower Columbia, and the seasonal cycle that guided the lives of those in Cathlapotle Village. The day also included a guided hike to see wildlife at the refuge and tours of the Plankhouse. The Plankhouse is open on weekends from noon to 4 p.m. and hosts special events the second Sunday of each month. Learn more about the Plankhouse at www.ridgefieldfriends.org/plankhouse.
