Today, people in every country are facing a crisis in sovereignty; we in America are the main focus of multinational corporations’ efforts to not only control our institutions of governance but to give the powers of those institutions to corporate tribunals.
President Obama’s increasingly determined efforts to get fast-track authority for the Trans Pacific Partnership legislation, along with bipartisan support from leadership in Congress, will prove to be the death knell for meaningful democratically elected representation in our republic unless bipartisan, grass-roots activism can turn back the momentum for its passage. There are two courses of action we must take immediately.
First, contact your congressional representatives and make your opposition to TPP known, and, second, join The Washington Coalition to Amend the Constitution campaign to get the influence of big money out of elections. Failure to do so will mean that Wall Street eventually destroys Main Street.
