Police activity near Clark College and Hudson’s Bay High School briefly locked down both campuses Monday afternoon.
At 1:22 p.m., 911 got a call about a suicidal person carrying a knife and walking on the sidewalk along East McLoughlin Boulevard and Fort Vancouver Way, near the high school’s track, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.
Police found him, and he was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Kapp said.
At Hudson’s Bay High School, the school resource officer put the building on lockdown at 1:37 p.m. and lifted the lockdown at 1:44 p.m., said Amanda Richter, spokeswoman for Vancouver Public Schools.
All buildings on the main campus of Clark College were put on lockdown between 1:40 and 1:43 p.m. The lockdown was lifted around 1:50 p.m., said Hannah Erickson, Clark spokeswoman.
