Prairie High School Air Force Junior Reserved Officers’ Training Corps is teaming up with JROTC cadets from Oregon City and Reynolds high school to celebrate the 99th JROTC anniversary with a 5K run at 9 a.m. April 25 at Camp Withycombe, 15300 S.E. Minuteman Way, Clackamas, Ore.
The event is part of a worldwide commemoration of the JROTC anniversary in which participants worldwide will start and run simultaneously. The race is expected to break the Guinness World Record for “most participants in a 5K run (multi-location).”
Public registration is open and costs $9. Prairie High School invites JROTC/ROTC alumni, high school students and community running enthusiasts to join them in this attempt to break the world record.
