VANCOUVER — Vancouver Public Schools will welcome a select group of educators from across the nation from April 19 to 21 at The Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools’ spring meeting in Vancouver. The educators share ideas and develop plans for using technology to support teaching and learning.
The Vancouver district, recognized nationally for using digital technology to improve student learning, is a founding member of the league. In 2014, VPS was the subject of a Digital Promise case study about the leadership role of teacher librarians in the digital age. In February this year, the U.S. Department of Education and the Alliance for Excellent Education chose Vancouver Public Schools as the second site of 12 Future Ready Regional Summits. The district also has hosted the National School Board Association’s Technology Leadership Network three times.
At the April meeting, superintendents will visit schools, attend workshops and view films showcasing the work of league students and educators.
