Summit on College Access is April 24

Vancouver — Community members are invited to share their opinions at the Southwest Washington Community Summit on College Access from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at Washington State University Vancouver, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. The event is in the Dengerink Administration Building.

Admission and parking are free. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register by April 16 at vancouver.wsu.edu/summit.

The summit is sponsored by 16 local organizations seeking to determine what makes access to college difficult and what can be done to overcome those obstacles.

Participants will hear presentations by John Deeder, Evergreen Public Schools; Dominique Merriweather, Umpqua Bank; and Katherine Rodela, WSU Vancouver College of Education.

Small groups will discuss college access. Then a student panel will discuss overcoming obstacles to college access.
