Vancouver — A live radio adaptation of “The Case Files of Dr. Moreau” will be performed by the Willamette Radio Workshop, directed by Sam A. Mowry, at 7 p.m. April 22 at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St.

The free, public event is a collaboration between Kiggins Theatre, the Willamette Radio Workshop and Washington State University Vancouver’s Creative Media and Digital Culture program.

“The Case Files of Dr. Moreau” is Portland playwright William S. Gregory’s adaptation of H.G. Wells’ 1896 science fiction novel “The Island of Dr. Moreau.”

Students from the audio performance class at WSU Vancouver will provide multimedia sound and visuals. John Barber, faculty member in WSU Vancouver’s Creative Media and Digital Culture program, is producing the performance.

The production begins with a live recreation of a historic radio drama complete with voice actors and Foley sound artists. Various digital and multimedia components increase audience engagement and introduce digital storytelling work from Barber’s students.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Concessions, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
