Go: Ideas for your weekend — ‘Columbia Dance Presents!’; Star Party; 5K runs

1. Leaps of talent

From ballet to contemporary styles, “Columbia Dance Presents!” will showcase the best of its current and former dance students. This collective performance features excerpts from “Swan Lake,” including Nevada Ballet Theatre company member Steven Goforth. There will also be new work by Éowyn Emerald and Dancers and Portland choreographer Samuel Hobbs with his project push/FOLD. The dance performance begins at 7 p.m. April 3, and 2 and 7 p.m. April 4 at the Royal Durst Theatre, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, 3101 Main St., Vancouver. 2. Total eclipse … of the moon

The full moon will be hidden in Earth’s shadow the morning of April 4 as a total lunar eclipse will be visible in the dawn sky. Weather permitting, the Vancouver Sidewalk Astronomers, Rose City Astronomers and Oregon Parks and Recreation will host an OMSI Star Party at Milo McIver State Park, 24101 S. Entrance Road, Estacada, Ore. The eclipse will begin around 2 a.m., reach maximum coverage around 5 a.m. and finish after 7 a.m. April 4. The lunar viewing party is free, with $5 for park fee. 3. Pretty runs

The tulips in Woodland or the mountain views at Washington State University Vancouver? Two scenic 5K walk/runs will take place this weekend.

The Tulip Trot 5K kicks off at 9 a.m. April 4, taking participants through the Woodland farmlands, with awards given to the top three male and female racers. The race begins at the Holland America Bulb Farm, 1066 S. Pekin Road, Woodland. Registration is $15 to $25. www.woodlandtulipshabf.com/tulip-trot-5k

Run for Cougs 5K starts at 10 a.m. April 4 from the Firstenburg Family Fountain at WSU Vancouver, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., Vancouver. 4. Writers series

Martha Grover will explore the ideas behind the modern memoir during her Professional Writers Series lecture from 7 to 9 p.m. April 7. Grover is the author of the zine “Somnambulist” and the memoir, “One More for the People,” which profiles three generations of her family. 5. A movie break

Looking for a free spring break activity for all? The Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., will show a free series of movies on its big screen, popcorn included.
