The state Department of Natural Resources will host a public hearing next week on a possible land transfer in Clark County.

The Spud Mountain InterTrust Exchange would re-designate parcels of DNR-managed land near Camas, clearing the way for the transfer of 163 acres of land to Clark County. The county would then manage the land for recreation, open space or wildlife habitat, according to DNR.

The public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. April 8 at the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. in Camas.

The state will also accept written comments on the proposal until 5 p.m. April 24. Written comments can be submitted to exchanges@dnr.wa.gov or by mail to DNR, Spud Mountain Inter-Trust Exchange, Attn: Bob Winslow, PO Box 47014, Olympia, WA 98504.
