Battle Ground — Administrators from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands visited various Battle Ground schools earlier this month to learn about how teachers incorporate technology into their lessons. Terence Corbett, assistant principal at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, and Judy Edmeade, assistant principal at Addelita Cancryn Junior High School, toured Laurin and Daybreak middle schools and Glenwood Heights Primary School. The administrators were nearby to attend the Northwest Council for Computer Education technology conference in Portland from March 18 to 20, and were invited to tour the schools by April Vonderharr, a fourth-grade teacher at Glenwood Heights, who learned the administrators would be attending the conference and wanted to see technology in the classroom. During the tour, the administrators observed students using Chromebooks to things such as add fractions and learn language arts concepts.
