Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3683.

• Clark Public Utilities needs tour leaders for the StreamTeam program. Leaders give tours and provide a hands-on activity to fourth- and fifth-grade students as they learn about the water cycle and environmental science.

• Empower Up seeks help with audio repair, computer deconstruction and repair, donations and facility support.

• Free Clinic of Southwest Washington seeks pharmacy technicians to support the clinic pharmacist on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings. Dental assistants, optometric and ophthalmic technicians and Spanish translators are also needed.

• Kaiser Permanente is looking for Hospice volunteers to work one-on-one with patients and their families, offering support during the last months of life. Volunteers may offer respite care, read or do projects, or visit with the patient. Office volunteers are also needed to call patient’s homes after the patient’s death, and be a voice of compassion.

• Open House Ministries is looking for mechanically inclined volunteers to repair bikes, and computer technicians to help people at the shelter use the computer.

• Retired and Senior Volunteer Program seeks help for its annual Connections Expo on May 17. Help is needed before and on the day of the event.

YWCA Clark County will have a new volunteer training cycle beginning Thursday. Volunteers are needed to support survivors of abuse, neglect and oppression.
