Endeavour’s ‘grizzly bench’ aimed at forging friendships

Image — Kids at Endeavour Elementary School now have a special place to sit during recess when they are in need of a friend to play with. The school unveiled its “Grizzly Bench” last month during the Back to School Ice Cream Social. The stone seat is meant to be a safe spot for a student to visit when they are looking for someone to spend time with during recess. Fifth-grader Kyle Wilke proposed the idea to Principal Lauren Hopson earlier this year after learning that other schools had installed similar benches. Woodland Primary School built its own “Buddy Bench” in June with the same goal.
