Nominees for high school fall athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 27. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.
SAVANNA CRAIG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY, won a league tri-meet with Battle Ground and Evergreen, then was the top Clark County runner at the Nike-Pre National meet, placing 15th in the Danner Championship race in 18:32.
BRIAN HUMPHREYS, CAMAS GOLF, shot a 3-under 33 at Camas Meadows to lead Camas to a two-shot win over Union, then won the Prairie Invitational by four shots, shooting a 67.
KARA NOFTSKER, COLUMBIA RIVER SWIMMING, a freshman, won the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle and helped River win the 400 free relay in a meet with Camas, Prairie and Battle Ground.
