Austen Johnson scored three touchdowns as the Hawks opened league play with a rout of Mark Morris.
Hockinson (4-0, 1-0) showed why it’s ranked No. 5 in the state. The offense moved consistently downfield while the defense forced turnovers.
Kicking also played a big part in the game. Mark Morris struggled to get good field position while the Hawks often started mid-field or better.
Johnson rushed for 128 yards on 13 carries while Tommy Harshaw added 93 rushing yards.
When asked how he felt about his performance, Johnson gave credit all around.
“It felt really good to win tonight,” Johnson said. “The line was great, the fans were great. This is a tight knit community and the fans are a big part of the team effort.”
