OLYMPIA — The state Department of Natural Resources on Thursday announced the end of a statewide burn ban, citing reduced fire danger.
Recent rainfall and cooling temperatures have improved conditions in Washington, according to DNR. But the department warned that some parts of the state remain dry, and urged residents to check with local authorities before burning. DNR’s action does not affect local restrictions.
The state burn ban had been in place since July 1. The city of Vancouver lifted its own ban on recreational burning earlier this week.
