CAMAS — Camas officials are holding a meeting on Tuesday to gather feedback from the public about access throughout the community for those with disabilities.

The meeting will be the first in a series of discussions as the city heads into an evaluation of how well its streets comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act . Officials are looking for input and ideas from anyone, especially those with disabilities, service providers and those with concerns about accessibility.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 at Camas City Hall, 616 N.E. Fourth Ave. in downtown Camas. Two more public meetings about the issue will be held in the next few months.

Those who cannot make it to the meetings can also send comments and suggestions to two engineers leading the project. John Manix with HDJ Design Group can be reached at 360-567-2117 or manixj@hdjdg.com. City Engineer Jim (Curleigh) Carothers can be reached at 360-817-1561, ext. 4230, or jcarothers@cityofcamas.us.
