OLYMPIA — Razor clam season tentatively will begin Oct. 7 on Long Beach Peninsula, opening with six consecutive days of digging.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced digging dates through Dec. 31, pending that marine toxin tests closer to the seasons show the clams are safe to eat.
The dates for Long Beach are Oct. 7-12, Oct. 22-28, Nov. 4-11, Nov. 20-26, Dec. 3-9, Dec. 19-23 and Dec. 31.
“Overall there are a lot of clams out there and we expect this to be another great season,” said Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager for the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
